Wellhead Protection

The goal of the wellhead protection plan is to prevent human-caused contaminants from entering our water supply wells and to protect all who use our water supply from adverse health effects associated with groundwater contamination.

Mora Municipal Utilities, along with its consultants and the Minnesota Department of Health, have been working on this plan since late in 2009. Final approval of the plan was made by the Minnesota Department of Health in September 2014.

A copy of part I and part II of the plan can be found below along with the Minnesota Department of Health approval letter. Appendix A of part II (page 49) contains the implementation plan that the water department will be working on over the nine years.
