In 2008 the fire department received a Homeland Security Grant to assist in the purchase of a compressor and fill station to be used for filling SCBA bottles. A donation from the Eddy Family Foundation helped make the purchase possible.
A modern training room is an important part of every fire station. The latest in computer/audio/video equipment is available to the various fire instructors who teach there. The room is also available to area law enforcement and EMS personnel for their training.
Funds from donations and fundraisers were used to purchase the equipment in the department kitchen. The spacious kitchen, with its large ovens and grill, get a workout during the annual chili supper in October and the breakfast with Santa in December.
Pictured above is the fire station dispatch room. From this room, firefighters are able to monitor the radio traffic of surrounding fire departments, law enforcement, and EMS services. In addition, all fire pre-plan and haz-mat information is close at hand.
